Bread with Tomato and
Jamon Serrano
 

This a very popular dish in Spain and frequently used as a tapa.  It can be made with or without the Serrano ham.


Ingredients

 - 12 slices of French bread, lightly toasted
  - ½ garlic clove
  - Spanish Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  - 12 thin slices of Serrano Ham
  - Dash of salt
  - One large tomato

Preparation

Place the tomato, a little olive oil and a dash of salt into a blender and puree.  Toast the bread.  Rub the end of a garlic clove on one side of the bread, and then drizzle with olive oil.  Place a tablespoon of the pureed tomato on each slice of bread.  Delicately pile a thin slice of ham on each slice of bread and serve.
