Valenciano Tiger Nuts - Chufa Nuts
Tiger Nuts, or chufas in Spanish, are originally from the Nile River Delta
in Egypt and were brought to Spain by the Phoenicians. Today, the
majority of the worlds Tiger Nuts are grown in Spain. This unique
traditional product is actually a tuber rather than a nut.
Tiger Nuts are most commonly used to make the famous
Spanish Horchata, a rich drink made from the tiger nuts, water and cinnamon.
Try making the refreshing cold drink at home, or eat the nuts on their own
for a delicious and nutritious snack.
